An exceptional setting: Saint-Jorioz (5,738 inhabitants) is a natural amphitheatre, made up of a town centre and eleven hamlets tiered along the Semnoz massif and Mont Taillefer, fronted by a small "coastal" plain that extends into the sparkling mirror of the lake, a place of every harmony of light. Its crescent-shaped harbour is the largest on the lake (with 368 mooring rings). Its beach is also the largest: 200 m long by 100 m deep, made of imported yellow sand.


A wide range of sports can be practised, summer and winter alike: hunting, fishing, rowing, sailing, water-skiing, tennis, swimming, diving, hiking, skiing, sledging and horse riding, as well as all team sports.
